A1 — Scope and Definitions

This AUP applies to all use of ATEK Grid (“ATEK,” “we,” “us”), including the website, viewer connections, in-world activity, events, parcels/regions, communications, and any ATEK-approved services or tools.

  • “You” means the account holder and anyone using your account or avatar identity.
  • “Content” includes builds, scripts, textures, sounds, snapshots, machinima, chat, and other media.
  • “Abuse” includes behavior that harms users, creators, systems, or service stability.
This AUP works alongside your Terms of Service. If there is a conflict, the Terms govern.

A2 — Illegal or Harmful Activity

  • Illegal activity: do not use ATEK to plan, promote, or participate in illegal conduct.
  • Threats and incitement: no credible threats of violence, encouragement of violence, or calls to harm others.
  • Doxxing: no publishing or sharing someone’s personal identifying information without consent.
  • Impersonation: no impersonating staff, creators, brands, or other users in a misleading way.
If we believe activity may involve serious harm or legal risk, we may act immediately, including suspension and evidence preservation.

A3 — Harassment, Hate, and Targeted Abuse

  • Harassment: repeated unwanted contact, stalking, intimidation, or targeted disruption.
  • Hate and discrimination: content or behavior that targets protected characteristics with hostility or dehumanization.
  • Bullying: coordinated pile-ons, humiliation campaigns, or harassment across alts/groups.
  • Ban evasion: using alts or other methods to evade moderation actions.
We encourage strong communities and roleplay; we do not allow targeted abuse or harassment disguised as “in-character” behavior.

A4 — Adult Content and Minors

ATEK is 18+ only. Adult content must remain within regions/parcels designated for adult activity and must follow posted local rules.

  • Zero tolerance: any sexual content involving minors (or characters presented as minors) is strictly prohibited.
  • Exploitation: no grooming, coercion, extortion, or non-consensual sexual content.
  • Age claims: if a user is suspected to be under 18, access may be restricted pending verification.
Violations in this area can result in immediate, permanent enforcement action.

A5 — Security, Exploits, Malware, and Unauthorized Access

  • No hacking: do not attempt to access accounts, regions, servers, or admin systems without authorization.
  • No malware: no distributing viruses, trojans, spyware, miners, or malicious scripts/attachments/links.
  • No exploits: no exploiting bugs to gain unfair advantage, bypass restrictions, or disrupt service stability.
  • No denial of service: no behavior designed to overload regions, services, or network resources.
If you discover a vulnerability, report it responsibly to support@atekgrid.com. Do not publish exploits.

A6 — Spam, Flooding, and Unwanted Solicitation

  • Spam: no bulk messaging, repetitive IMs, unsolicited ads, or automated solicitation.
  • Flooding: no chat spam, gesture spam, particle spam, or disruptive audio spam.
  • Bot abuse: no bot swarms or automation designed to manipulate traffic, events, or systems.
  • Respect local rules: venues and regions may set stricter policies on promotion and solicitation.
Legitimate promotion is allowed where it is invited and relevant. Unwanted solicitation is not.

A7 — Intellectual Property, Permissions, and DRM

ATEK respects creators. OpenSim permissions (copy/modify/transfer) are the platform’s DRM. You agree to respect them.

  • No copybot / export abuse: do not bypass permissions, rip content, or export protected assets.
  • No infringement: do not upload or distribute copyrighted material without rights or authorization.
  • Brand/IP misuse: do not misrepresent ownership or affiliation with brands, creators, or ATEK staff.
  • DMCA: copyright claims may be handled through the ATEK DMCA process (see dmca.php when published).
If you are a creator and see infringement, report it with specific details so we can locate the material quickly.

A8 — Fraud, Scams, and Economic Abuse

  • No scams: no phishing, fake giveaways, impersonation-based fraud, or “too good to be true” schemes.
  • No chargeback abuse: do not use payment disputes to obtain benefits while withholding payment.
  • No laundering: do not use ATEK systems to conceal proceeds of illegal activity.
  • GT integrity: activity designed to exploit or manipulate Game Token systems may result in freezing/reversal.
We may investigate suspicious behavior and may request additional verification to protect the community and creators.

A9 — Performance and Resource Abuse

  • Region stability: do not deploy scripts, particles, or physics objects designed to cause lag or crashes.
  • Sensor and listener abuse: avoid excessive scanning, spam listeners, or high-frequency polling.
  • Bot density: automation that degrades performance or misrepresents concurrency is prohibited.
  • Staff direction: comply with reasonable requests from staff to reduce load during incidents or events.
We want creators to build big projects. We just need builds and systems to remain stable and respectful of shared resources.

A10 — Enforcement, Moderation, and Reporting

We may take action to protect users, creators, and system stability. Enforcement decisions consider severity, intent, impact, and history.

  • Possible actions: warnings, content removal, region restrictions, temporary suspension, termination, and technical blocks.
  • Evidence: we may preserve logs and related data for security, compliance, and dispute resolution.
  • Urgent action: we may act without notice if necessary to prevent harm or preserve service integrity.
  • Appeals: you may request review by contacting support with relevant details and context.
Please include: avatar name, approximate time (SLT), region, screenshots (if available), and a clear description of what occurred.
